What is a Doula? As both a Birth Doula and Postpartum Doula, I provide essential emotional, mental, and physical support during pregnancy, labor, birth, and the immediate postpartum period (1–2 hours after birth). Additionally, I offer guidance and education for families with newborns in the first 3 months, ensuring they receive the pregnancy support they need. I assist in advocating for your preferences during labor and birth, providing evidence-based information to help you make informed decisions. It’s important to note that I am not a medical professional, and all medical decisions are made by you and your care provider. During the postpartum period, I offer support in newborn care, physical birth recovery, bonding, and breastfeeding education. However, I do not perform medical procedures or act as a nanny or babysitter. My role as a Birth and Postpartum Doula is to empower families with knowledge and emotional support, fostering a smooth transition into parenthood.
